SwiftKey 6.0 brings new themes, emoji revamp & much more
Hi everyone,
As of today, you’ll be able to update SwiftKey for Android and get your hands on our biggest Android release this year: SwiftKey 6. A few weeks ago, SwiftKey 6 went into public beta and brought with it a slew of new features, languages and customization options to give you the best possible typing experience. Head to Google Play to update now!
Here’s a quick rundown of all of the brand new changes in today’s big update:
Features:
- Double-Word Prediction adds a new dimension to the predictions you see, predicting your next two words at once and helping you type faster than ever
- A redesign of the emoji panel, making it more accessible and speedy
- A complete overhaul of the settings menu in the style of Material Design to make it easier to fine tune and customize your keyboard
- 5 new languages: Yoruba, Igbo, Zulu, Xhosa & Breton
We’re also excited to bring you something totally new today that wasn’t in the beta: themes – and lots of them (34, to be exact)! In addition to Carbon Light, our brand new default, free Material Design-inspired theme that you might recognize from the public beta, we’ve got six (yes, six) new theme packs – including our very first Megapack!
Hop over to the SwiftKey Store to check them out, and get a rundown of all the new themes.
Other fixes and improvements:
- Prediction fixes when tagging/checking into Facebook
- Randomly capitalized words won’t be added to your language model
- Greater consistency with swipe-to-delete on Samsung devices
- No more jumpy cursor or text duplication issues in Chrome or apps using web views
