iTunes 12.4.1 brings design updates and fixes music deletion bug
iTunes 12.4 is now available for OS X and Windows with user interface updates, sidebar view in library, bug fixes and more. The previous icon based switcher for music, movies and other categories has been changed to a drop down menu, backward and forward navigation buttons have been added and the Library sidebar has also made a comeback.
Here is the complete list of changes in iTunes 12.4 from Apple:
- Navigation. Now you can use Back and Forward buttons as you navigate between your Library, Apple Music, iTunes Store, and more.
- Media Picker. Easily switch between Music, Movies, TV shows, and more—and Edit to choose just the items you want.
- Library and Playlists. Use Sidebar to view your Library in new ways. Drag and drop songs to easily add them to Playlists. And Edit Sidebar to show only your favorite views.
- Menus. Menus in iTunes are now simpler and easier to use. Use the View menu to customize your Library or try context menus to act on specific items.
The previous iTunes 12.3 update had brought along El Capitan design updates, iOS 9 support, two factor authentication, bug fixes and more. As per rumors, Apple is working on a complete design overhaul for iTunes and might show it off at WWDC and release it in the third or fourth quarter of this year. However, take it with a pinch of salt as Apple’s plans are best known to them and rumors are not completely reliable.
If you are on OS X, simply open up Mac App Store and head on over to the updates tab to upgrade to the iTunes 12.4 and if you are a Window user, open up Apple Software Update to receive the upgrade. If you don’t have iTunes installed on Windows, it can be downloaded fromApple’s website.
